DataMan 8600 Series Handheld Code Readers

The DataMan 8600 Series handheld code readers are image-based ID code readers that feature advanced barcode reading technology for decoding direct part mark (DPM) codes, 2D codes, and 1D codes with different sizes, qualities, marking, or printing methods. These handheld direct part mark (DPM) code readers are designed for the most demanding factory floor environments. The DataMan 8600 Series readers are equipped with an advanced liquid lens imaging system and patented UltraLight® flexible lighting technology, enabling them to decode a variety of hard-to-discern DPM codes. Furthermore, the modular communication design supports Ethernet industrial protocols as well as wired and wireless modules, allowing the DataMan 8600 Series readers to meet your various communication requirements.

Powerful Direct Part Mark Handheld Code Reader

Cognex leverages the Hotbars® technology and powerful 2DMax®+ and 1DMax+ algorithms to make the DataMan 8600 Series image-based code readers capable of decoding challenging direct part mark (DPM) barcodes even in harsh industrial conditions.

 

2D Code Reading Technology

The DataMan 8600 features Cognex's most reliable and advanced 2D algorithms to handle various 2D codes and small DPM codes with issues such as damage, distortion, skew, low contrast, and obstructions.

 

Combined with 1DMax+ Technology with Hotbars

Cognex's 1DMax+ algorithm, with image analysis technology from Hotbars, provides unprecedented performance to the DataMan 8600 code reader, enabling it to read damaged or difficult-to-read codes.

 

Advanced Handheld Imaging System

The DataMan 8600 Series code readers can capture high-quality images on most types of marks and surfaces. They feature advanced UltraLight® patented technology, faster image sensors, and liquid lenses with greater depth of field. UltraLight illumination provides dark field, bright field, and diffused lighting with the control of a single electronic light. These advanced technologies ensure that the DataMan 8600 Series code readers can image barcodes more quickly and easily at different surfaces and distances.

 

Exclusive Modular Industrial Communication

Equipped with Ethernet communication and industrial protocols, the DataMan 8600 Series can be easily integrated with industrial automation equipment, facilitating quick and efficient installation and maintenance. Other industry-standard communication options include USB, RS-232, and Bluetooth communication between the intelligent base stations. With field-exchangeable communication modules, the readers can meet specific and evolving communication needs.
